Returned Illusions
Polaroid-Based Collage Series
Artwork Description
The recent years have been defined by confinement for the entire world. Everyone was forced into domestic solitude. Even those who would otherwise travel the globe lost their mobility. Reality became bleak — we could only set off on journeys with the help of soaring imagination. I too was confined to a few square metres for long months. My imagination set off on its own journey. Illusions took over my thoughts, and a world took shape. A world where anything can happen without consequences. A world where the characters are not in quarantine. I took out a few of my Polaroid photographs, and reused of the can of beer I had just finished: on the one hand, I fueled my imagination; on the other, the graphic design on the can stepped into my photographic world as the main theme.
